You have undergone a dermal fillers treatment where Hyaluronic acid has been placed into the skin. You may have some swelling, redness or bruising which should subside over the next 1-14 days. Arnica tablets/gel can be used.
Following treatment, please avoid the following:
You should see the results immediately, although the final results become clear once any swelling has subsided.
Juvederm Ultra: 6-9 months approx
Juvederm Voluma: 12-18 months approx
Allergy or infections can occur, but thankfully are uncommon. If you get a painful or itchy bump or swelling near the injection site, please contact your Practitioner for a review.
Pending Necrosis: though extremely rare, necrosis needs immediate treatment to prevent scarring. It is caused by the filler disrupting or blocking the blood supply causing discolouration, usually accompanied by pain within the first few hours of treatment. High risk areas are the forehead, corner of the nose and frown lines. It requires an immediate return to your clinic or if out of yours, the ED.
Anaphylaxis: Though rare in the extreme, immediately after your treatment, if you start to feel unwell and develop swelling and redness around the area of treatment, your practitioner is trained to identify and treat this. If you are no longer in the clinic, you must seek urgent care via 999.
